The Border Regional 1/8 Rallycross Series

The Border Counties League.

 

The Border Counties league is an association of twelve clubs from the Midlands to the Wirral.  It is now in its twenty first year, and the clubs hold a series of off-road meetings throughout the summer. In 2008 we will see a major shift in the way the “BCL “ will run with the emphasis on running a   1/8 Rallycross Regional series hence the name change to the series ,we will not however abandon the electric racing that the BCL has run for  twenty years so succesfully and all the electric classes will be catered for although the tracks will be based on the BRCA rules for rallycross cars but with a cut through for the electric classes .

Classes for 2008 will be –

1/8                Rallycross

2wd             Electric Buggy’s

4wd             Electric Buggy’s

2&4 WD     Electric Trucks

1/10             Electric Rally cars

1/18 Scale   Trucks and Buggy’s

1/10              Nitro Trucks (including 1/12th scale truggys)

                     Monster trucks

                     Truggies

19 turn         Novice class

 

The 19 Turn Novice class is open to new drivers to the BCL who have started racing at club with a 19 turn motor and do not want to spend money on a modified motor and is open to any age group .they will run in their normal 1/10 class (2or 4 wd Buggy, truck or rally car) and receive points in that class as well as the 19 turn class.

Series points are awarded on qualifying and finals, with a maximum of 100 points awarded for each.  A driver finishing fastest in qualifying and winning the “A” final would therefore receive 200 points for the meeting. A drivers best 4 scores from 6 will be counted with round 7 being a finals meeting ,  In the event of a tie at the end of the series, the highest individual score will be taken as the winner.

Please remember to book in promptly for meetings, remember there is a late entry fee and this year more clubs WILL be applying it.  You should be entering events at least a week prior to the meeting.  Entry forms will be available at Race Control at all BCL meetings this year, fill one in while you’re there and hand it with the cheque to the rep of the club holding the following round.  This also saves on postage!  Your club rep should have entry forms at your local club meetings, if he hasn’t GIVE HIM HELL!!!  Also remember that to enter you MUST be a BRCA member, fill in your number on the entry form.  If you’re not in the BRCA you can not race in the BCL!
